Founder and Director, Shuming Kong

Shuming has 13 year's experience as a Chinese Central Television (CCTV) news and political reporter, during which time she won two Chinese national TV awards in China. CCTV is China’s national broadcaster, with an audience of 800 million, it is the world's most viewed public television company. Shuming was also a columnist for Wenhui Daily, Shanghai’s most prestigious national daily newspaper.

While working as the London-based correspondent of CCTV for three years, Shuming successfully secured exclusive interviews with numerous European political leaders, including Irish Taoisch Berti Ahern, Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Austrian Prime Minister Wolfgang Schuessel and United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Shuming’s other responsibilities in London were to provide media support and report on numerous visits by leading Chinese politicians to various European countries including President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao. From this experience, she has established and maintained good government relations on both professional and personal levels.

She also has good contacts with the Chinese communities in the UK and a variety of organizations, companies and agencies who have engagements with China.

Shuming has appeared on BBC 24 news programs to comment on China-related issues and has been invited to speak at various China seminar events in the UK.
